The aims of the Association
The Association’s primary aims are:
- To help promote the area and attract more footfall.
- To help promote individual businesses or groups of businesses operating in the area.
- To provide a regular forum that allows members to exchange views and ideas on ways to improve the
quality of business life in the area.
Association activities and achievements to date
The Association has been active since April 2008 and to date, amongst other things, it has:
- Established together with the Metropolitan Police, an email early warning system to alert members to
potential shoplifters or credit card fraudsters who may be operating in the area.
- Established a relationship with Westminster City Council to monitor and improve the area.
- Supported the local residential community by participating in local events.
- Works closely with PR companies to ensure local and national press coverage for the traders in the area.
- Organises the very successful annual ‘Motcomb Street Party’.
Membership criteria
Membership of the Association is open to any business operating in the area. Individual businesses may be represented by the owner or any full time employee at member’s meetings. Grosvenor actively supports the Association but all businesses are very welcome to join whether they are Grosvenor tenants or not.

Objectives and Values:
- To promote the commercial character of Knightsbridge for the benefit of our members.
- To foster neighbourly relationships between the members.
- To liase with other residential and commercial groups or associations in the area for mutual benefit.
General :
- The group has been in existence for 30 plus years and is chaired by Derek Picot the Regional Director of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
- The number of members is kept below 30 in order to create a more personal ambiance and is a non profit making group.
- Application for memberships have to be invited via one of the members and a decision is made at committee level.
- There are six planned luncheon meetings each year held in our members establishments providing members with the opportunity to meet and network.
- There are also ad hoc events throughout the year including the annual Motcomb Street Party, which is fully supported by the KBG and the individual members. This year alone helping to raise over £44,000 for charity a record year.
- A guest speaker is occasionally invited to attend and provide input on local, political and topical issues.

The Cadogan Estate comprises 93 acres of Chelsea, stretching northwards on Sloane Street as far as Knightsbridge and Harvey Nichols, southwards through Sloane Square and past Peter Jones to Lower Sloane Street and westwards, with several holdings on King’s Road as far as Beaufort Street.

The foundation of the Cadogan Estate was laid in 1712 when the physician Sir Hans Sloane bought the Manor of Chelsea.
